BRIDGEPORT, CT: Alex Charts, 62, a long time resident of Fairfield County, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA, after years of triumphantly dealing with many serious health issues. His wife of 32 years, Helena (Sawicki) Charts, died December 23, 2004. He leaves his father, Platon Chartschlaa; two brothers, Peter and Paul Chartschlaa; three sisters, Lidia Kozycz, Martha Kohl, and Ruth Stumpf; his mother-in-law, Genowefa Sawicki; two sisters-in-law, Angela King and Irene Gauthier; a brother-in-law, Rick Sawicki; and twenty well-loved nieces and nephews. He was born in Denmark, son of the late Antonina (Zuberjeva) Chartschlaa. Alex worked as an insurance agent in the Fairfield County area of Connecticut for many years. A CALLING HOUR will be held from 10 to 11 a. m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the CHAPEL at the EVANGELICAL BAPTIST CENTER, 574 Ashford Center Road, Ashford, CT, followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 11 a. m. , in the CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Woodward Cemetery, in Ashford.
