Andreas P. Panagiotopoulos, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, after a two-year fight with AML and stage-four Lung Cancer. He was born in Vrochitsa Ilias, a small village in Greece, where he lived until he moved to the United States in 1974 and lived in Worcester for most of his life until his passing. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sheila (Zalneraitis) of almost 19 years. They were married in February 2004 and were together since 1997. He is survived by his four children, Peter, Georgia Crowninshield (and husband Christopher), Emilia-Marie, and Theodoros, from a previous marriage; three stepsons Daniel, Craig, and William Wayman; six grandchildren, Robert, Makayla, Kaitlyn, Kinzley, Brynn, and Rhea; his brother George and his wife, Helen; and many nieces and nephews. In Greece, he is also survived by his brother Konstantinos and sisters Angeliki and Anastasia. After George sponsored his younger brother to bring him to the United States, Andreas worked in the Pizza business, having owned West St. Pizza & Spa for years, before working with his brother at Papa George’s Pizza in Worcester. In addition, Andreas proudly worked more than a decade for Table Talk Pies, where he specialized in producing the company’s 4-inch snack pies. Andreas retired from Table Talk Pies in 2010 to enjoy time with his wife and family. Along with the family he adored, Andreas absolutely loved Soccer - especially his favorite team Olympiacos F. C. He also enjoyed Western films, specifically John Wayne movies. Fun fact, Andreas even shared the same birthday of May 26 with “The Duke”. Andreas was also an avid Boston sports fan, and followed the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots religiously over the years. The epitome of kindness and a heart filled with gold, Andreas will be dearly missed. Family and close friends are welcome to gather with the family from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. on Thursday, October 27 at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A memorial service will follow at 1 p. m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
