WORCESTER: Anna Barbara (Lyons) Galvin, 82, formerly of 31 Brigham Rd. and 101 Chadwick St. , died peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2006 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of 20 years, John J. Galvin, died May 6, 1974. She leaves two sons, James M. Galvin and his wife Maureen of Worcester, Timothy W. Galvin and his wife Allison of Paxton; a sister, Margaret Borkowski of Gilford, VT; two grandsons, Sean and Patrick Galvin, both of Worcester; three granddaughters, Regina, Erica and Elizabeth Galvin, all of Paxton; and many nieces and nephews. A son, John J. Galvin, Jr. , a brother, Francis Lyons, and a sister, Catherine Thompson, all predeceased her. She was born and raised in Brattleboro, VT, daughter of the late James and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Lyons. She was a 1941 graduate of St. Michael's High School in Brattleboro and also a graduate of the Modern School of Fashion and Design in Boston. She lived in the Worcester area since 1948. Anna Barbara worked as a lunch attendant for 20 years in the City of Worcester Public Schools, until retiring in 1982. She previously worked for several years as an interior decorator at the former Denholm and McKay Company. She was a member of Christ the King Church, the parish Women's Guild, St. Michael's Alumni Association, and Friends of the Council on Aging in Paxton. CALLING HOURS are 4 to 7 p. m. Wednesday, May 3, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held Thursday, May 4, at 10 a. m. in CHRIST THE KING CHURCH, 1052 Pleasant St. , followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
