WORCESTER: Annie (Baynes) Davitt, 92, died peacefully in Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr. , Thursday, October 28, 2004, after an illness. Her husband of 50 years, Patrick J. Davitt, died in 1989. She leaves a son, Austin P. Davitt of Worcester; three daughters, Ann M. Forsyth wife of Patrick Russell Forsyth of Acton, Katherine J. Davitt and Theresa B. Davitt, both of Worcester; a brother John Baynes of Dublin, Ireland; a sister, Bridget O'Malley and a sister-in-law Mary Baynes, both of Westport, County Mayo, Ireland; three grandsons, Dr. John Forsyth and his wife Celine of Albany, NY, Paul Forsyth and his wife Dr. Leigh Forsyth of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Kevin Forsyth and his wife Trisha of Stow, MA; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews here, in Ireland and in England, including Rev. James P. Kerrigan, pastor of St. Patrick's Church in Rutland, Mary Lizotte of Charlton and Theresa Shusas of Worcester. Four brothers, Austin, Michael and Edward of Ireland and England and Patrick Baynes of Worcester, and three sisters, Mary Agnes Kerrigan of Worcester, Theresa Walsh of Ireland and Katie O'Grady of England, all predeceased her. She was born in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland, daughter of the late Patrick and Anne T. (Kittredge) Baynes and came to the United States in 1930. Annie was a member of St. Bernard's Church for 61 years and had been an active member of their former Rosary Altar Society and the Monday Afternoon Club. She loved and enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 p. m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a. m. on Monday, Nov. 1, in ST. BERNARD'S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. , followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. The family suggests donations in Annie's memory be made to St. Bernard's Church, 236 Lincoln St. , Worcester, MA 01605 or the Priest Retirement Fund, c/o Diocese of Worcester, 49 Elm St. , Worcester, MA 01609.
