AUBURN: Armand G. Powers, 78, of 34 Lower Windbrook Dr. , formerly of Saco, Maine, died peacefully in his home, Saturday, October 16, 2004. His beloved wife of 55 years, Georgianna E. (Boisvert) Powers, died August 24, 2001. He leaves a daughter, Dorothy M. Harlow of Winchendon; two sons, Armand G. Powers Jr. of Hudson, Mark B. Powers of Auburn; two brothers, Anthony Powers of Canada, Joseph Powers of Texas; a sister, Theresa Perry of Canada; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Albert Powers and a sister Peggy Arseneault, both predeceased him. Armand was born in Westbrook, Maine, son of the late Joseph P. and Leona (Bernard) Powers and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Auburn over 35 years ago. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a truck driver with Northridge's Furniture for 25 years and 8 years with Rotman's Furniture, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cribbage and horseshoes. CALLING HOURS will be held from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 11 a. m. in ST. CATHERINE of SWEDEN CHURCH, 1 Wiser Ave. , Worcester, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
