WORCESTER: Arthur G. McCray, 81, formerly of 3 Frederick St. , died Saturday, January 16, 2010, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after becoming ill at home. His wife of 60 years, Bernice T. (Grimala) McCray, died July 31, 2007. He leaves a son, Arthur R. McCray; two daughters, Linda L. Rutkiewicz and Bernice D. McCllelan, all of Worcester; 6 grandchildren, Jackie, David and Sara Hebb, Lisa Sinkias, Kimberley Mateiko and Jonathan McClellan; 2 nieces and 3 nephews, Debora, Jane, Brian, Norman and Donald. A brother, Donald N. McCray of Chicago and a sister Elizabeth âDollyâ Vaisey of Worcester, both predeceased him. He was born in New York City, son of the late Arthur D. and Yvonne C. (Lavallee) McCray, and lived here most of his life. He attended Commerce High School and served in the U. S. Marines Corps. Arthur was a press operator and later a parts inspector at the Thomas Smith Company where he worked for 20 years. He previously worked as an electro plater. He enjoyed reading, antiquing and target practice. There are no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
