WORCESTER: Barbara A. (Sullivan) Moriarty, 90, formerly of 485 Grove St. , died Thursday, evening, January 10, 2019 at Christopher House, 20 Mary Scano Drive. Her husband of 20 years, John J. Moriarty, died in 1985. She leaves a step-son, Paul J. Moriarty of FL; two brothers, Francis E. Sullivan and his wife Beverly of Naples, FL; Eugene G. Sullivan and his wife Carolyn of Holden; and several nieces and nephews. A step-son, John J. Moriarty, Jr. and a sister, Joan T. McManus, both predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Eugene G. and Katherine R. (Doherty) Sullivan, lived in Worcester all of her life, and was a graduate of the Salter School. Barbara worked for 30 years as an x-ray technician at the Radiology Clinic, Inc. in Worcester until she retired in 1985. She had been a long-time member of St. Johnâs Church. She was an active member and past vice-president of the Worcester Democratic City Committee. She enjoyed reading and traveling. The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Nancy Jussino and Claudet Garvin of the Brookside Unit at Christopher House for the most compassionate care they provided to Barbara. Additional thanks to John Sugden of the Jewish Health Care Hospice and Rev. Andres A. Araque for the special attention they also provided for Barbara. The family suggests donations in memory of Barbara be made to the St. John's Food for the Poor Program, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604. www. stjohnsfoodforthepoor. org After cremation, a MEMORIAL FUNERAL MASS with her ashes will be held at 10 A. M. on TUESDAY, JAN. 22nd in ST. JOHNâS CHURCH, 40 Temple Street followed by burial in St. Johnâs Cemetery. There are No Calling Hours.
