Barbara L. (Lyons) Belanger Lyons

WORCESTER: Barbara L. (Lyons) Belanger Lyons, 73, formerly of Worcester, died peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Millbury Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. Her first husband U. S. Air Force TSgt. Robert E. A. Belanger, died in 1968. Her second husband, John V. Lyons, died in 1986. She leaves three daughters, Shari L. Lyons of Belmont, Michelle L. Roche of Littleton, Dawn M. Marcaccio and her husband Paul of North Kingstown, RI; three sons, Robert D. Belanger and his wife Anne Marie of Franklin, Mark S. Lyons and his wife Laura of North Chelmsford, Sean T. Lyons and his partner Megan Bonner of Holland; two brothers, William P. Lyons and his wife Dorothy of Whitinsville, Francis J. âJoeâ Lyons of Worcester; 24 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her best friend Veronica, and her beloved dog, Jake. Another brother, James M. âMikeâ Lyons of Timonium, MD, predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late James J. and Margaret A. (Houle) Lyons and attended St. Peter-Marian High School. She also completed the nursing program at Assabet Valley Regional Technical School. She lived in Rockwood, Maine and in Marlborough before returning to Worcester where she lived most of her life. Barbara worked as a licensed practical nurse in the Framingham area for many years, until she retired. She was a Friend of Bill W. for more than 30 years and an active member of several churches throughout her life. She enjoyed the beach, knitting, reading and spending time with her family and loved ones. CALLING HOURS will be held from 5 to 7 P. M. on TUESDAY, OCT. 16 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. in Worcester, followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 7 P. M. , in the funeral home. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Johnâs Cemetery, Worcester.
