Bruce Barclay Benard

April 17, 1956 — March 27, 2025

WORCESTER – Bruce Barclay Benard, age 68, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, surrounded by the loving presence of his family. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was the son of Rudolph and Ann (Dressell) Benard and was a lifelong resident of Central Massachusetts.

Bruce graduated from South Hadley High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for many years as a Commercial Electrician, a trade he learned during his military service. He also worked at ADT for over 20 years installing and maintaining security systems.

Bruce enjoyed spending his time outdoors and with his family. He enjoyed making things and was always working on a new project.

Bruce will be lovingly missed and remembered by beloved children: his son, Brandon Benard, his daughter, Leah Benard, and his stepson, Thomas Hester, all of Worcester; his devoted former wife, Donna (Sbrogna) Benard of Worcester; his sisters, Debbie and Dawn Benard; his brother, Keith Benard; and his cherished grandson, Daymon Gaffney. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother, Mark Benard.

Family and friends will gather to honor Bruce’s memory. The calling Hours from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 31st at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
