Carol Maiser

Carol Maiser, age 80, of Holden, MA, passed away on Sunday January 14, 2024 of respiratory issues. She was born on July 9, 1943, in Kansas City, MO. Carol was a spirited, loving, and positive soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.   Carol lived in Holden for over 50 years and cherished being a part of the community. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed various outdoor activities such as riding a tandem bicycle, kayaking, and RVing. Carol dedicated her retirement to volunteering winters at state parks and nature preserves in Florida alongside her beloved husband, Fritz Maiser. She had a special fondness for animals, particularly cats.   In addition to her husband Fritz, Carol is survived by her three children and five grandchildren: Greg and Christina Maiser, along with their two children Bear and Torrey; Kristy and Ernie Stevens, along with their two children Nora and Emmett; and finally Katya Maiser, her son Kurt Maiser, and her partner Jay Desrochers.      Carol began her work life as an airline stewardess for TWA, subsequently co-owned Fritz's Bicycle Shop in Worcester, and retired as a Opthalmology Technician, most recently for Dr. Edward Kazarian. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many patients throughout her career.   At Carol's request, no memorial services will be held. However, her memory can be honored through contributions in her name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. These organizations were close to Carol's heart, reflecting her great love for animals and her compassion for children.   Carol will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her contagious humor and love for her family. May she rest in peace.
