Carol (Richer) Bonder

December 3, 1939 — October 30, 2022

Carol Ann (Richer) Bonder, passed away after an illness on October 30, 2022, at age 82. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Zygmunt “Ziggy” Bonder. She was surrounded by family and friends as she was her whole life. She was born in Worcester, to Helen (Bowler) and Joseph Richer. She was the youngest of six siblings, she is survived by her brother Joseph and predeceased by Robert, Shirley, George & Helen. She is survived by six sons and twelve grandchildren: Michael and wife Linda (Rebecca Gearty, Rachel Berger & Isabella), David and wife Debra (Emily Trask & Corinne), William and fiancé Fabrizia (Caitlin & Declan), Steven, Thomas and wife Rita (Hedy) and Donald and Diane (Alexis, Samuel, Sydney & Alyssa) and two great-grandchildren (Cassius Berger & Isla Gearty). Carol graduated from St. Peter’s High and married Zygmunt in 1960, moving to Vernon Hill in Worcester where the family still resides. She was always active shepherding her six boys and friends in the neighborhood. She could always be seen smiling while attending St. Mary’s basketball games and other school and church events. Once her sons were all in school, she spent many years working at various places and especially enjoyed her time working at the Radiology Department at St. Vincent’s Hospital where she had many friends. Her sons worked with her part time during summers. She was happiest when she was spending time with her extended family which also included her siblings and in-laws, nieces, nephews and especially her 12 grandchildren. She adored all of her dogs and they loved that she had a tendency to sneak them snacks. She could always be found in her kitchen and constantly ironing clothes with a passion. In recent years she could be spotted having lunch across Worcester with her son Steve. They were inseparable and really enjoyed their lunches at Pinecroft Dairy & The Other Place Pub among other places. Anyone that knew Carol expected her to tell them like it was and would always be there to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Her quick wit, sassy personality, strong faith and love for her family will be deeply missed by all of us that knew and loved her. Visiting hours will be from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, November 4th at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln St, Worcester. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 34 Ward Street, Worcester.
