Catherine V. Johnston

HOLDEN: Catherine V. (Heald) Johnston, 82, of 31 Towle Dr. , formerly of Worcester, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 in her home, after an illness. Her husband of 45 years, Thomas Johnston, died March 28, 1995. She leaves a son, Thomas J. Johnston of Holden; a daughter, Maura A. Johnston of Philadelphia, PA; a brother, John P. Heald of Dyer, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Mary A. Heald of Worcester, died in 1996. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John P. and Mary (Conlon) Heald, was raised in Webster, and graduated from Bartlett High School. She lived in Long Beach, CA for 12 years before returning to the Worcester area. Catherine enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her two children. In recent years, she enjoyed the support and friendship of the participants and staff at the Summit Elder Care Program in Worcester. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. After cremation, burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. The family suggests donations in memory of Catherine be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, One Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346.
