WORCESTER: Charles W. Gleason, Sr. , 81, of 28 Commonwealth Ave. , formerly of Prospect St. , died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, in Radius Healthcare Center at Worcester, after developing complications related to Alzheimer's Disease. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Jackie (Collette) Gleason; two sons, Charles W. Gleason Jr. and his wife Kathy of Palm Harbor, Fl. , Shawn M. Gleason and his wife Kathy of Worcester; two daughters, Linda Kupstas and her husband Steven of Auburn, Christine Mezzoni and her husband Edward of Windsor Colorado; a sister, Frances DiPerrio of Holden; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Sandra Frenette, died July 7, 2000. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Herbert and Delia (Butler) Gleason. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a former member of American Legion Post 138 in Spencer, and the 40 + 8 Voitre 1113. He loved animals and spending time with the family pets. Charlie was a maintenance worker for 17 years at the former Shawmut Bank, until retiring in 1989. He previously worked 28 years as a truck driver of wholesale groceries. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS.
