WORCESTER: Claire T. (Lonergan) Burke, 86, died peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital, with her family by her side. She leaves her husband of more than 62 years, John H. âJackâ Burke, Jr. ; five sons, James M. Burke of Worcester, John H. Burke III and his wife Kathleen of Oxford, Richard P. Burke and his wife Jodi of Shrewsbury, William J. Burke of Worcester, Michael E. Burke and his companion Ashleigh Stanton of Grafton; three daughters, Kathleen J. Bruscia and her husband Ronald of Katy, TX, Maureen C. Comer of Worcester, Martha A. Stevens and her husband Michael of Worcester; 21 grandchildren; a great grandson; two more great grandchildren on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Mae Fidrych, Rita Elie, and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer J. Burke, all predeceased her. Claire was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late John J. and Alice T. (Deignan) Lonergan and was a graduate of Commerce High School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening around her home.
