Donald Ivory Stark

Donald Ivory Stark, 92, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Born on July 17, 1931, in Worcester, MA, he was the son of Charles and Jean (Ivory) Stark, both originally from Scotland.

Donald was a devoted husband to his wife of 70 years, Virginia Stark (Briggs), and a loving father to Cindy LaPan and her husband Ken of Worcester, Scott Stark and his wife Elaine of Shrewsbury, and Heidi Doyle and her husband Dennis of Leicester. He cherished his role as a grandfather to six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Donald attended Commerce High School, and then dedicated 48 years of his career to the David Gessner Company as a skilled machinist. He leaves behind his siblings, David Stark of Spencer and Jean Hart of Texas. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Jean Stark, and brothers James "Jimmy" and William "Billy" Stark.

Donald was a man of simple pleasures, known for his quiet demeanor and big heart. He found happiness in life’s small moments, like enjoying fish dinners on Friday nights or tending to his garden and riding his tractor at home. His grandchildren have fond memories of swimming in his pool under his watchful and loving gaze.

Donald’s celebration of life will be private.

Donald will be remembered for his gentle spirit and generous heart. He has left a lasting imprint on all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
