MILLBURY, MA: Dorothy R. (Gelardi) Chesna, 82, of 13 Thomas Hill Rd. , died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in UMass Memorial Healthcare- Memorial Campus, after an illness. She leaves her husband of 22 years, Anthony J. Chesna; a daughter, Diana M. Goernert and her husband Conrad of North Grosvenordale, CT; a stepson, Michael Chesna and his wife Donna of Millbury; a stepdaughter, Kathy Wilczynski and her husband Michael of Millbury; two brothers, Charles A. and Peter P. Gelardi, both of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her sister, Carmella N. Verdini, predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (SanClementi) Gelardi, and was a graduate of Commerce High School. She continued to live in Worcester until moving to Millbury after she was married. Dorothy was a seamstress and a supervisor at the Slovin Company in Worcester for many years, until she retired. She previously worked, as a seamstress at Trippi's when it was located on Shrewsbury St. in Worcester. She was known as an instructor and coordinator of ballroom dancing at SAC Park, which she thoroughly enjoyed for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
