Worcester – Douglas “Doug” P. Holiday, 72, died peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2022 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus, Worcester. He was born in Worcester, the son of Kiser and Gloria (Beaugard) Holiday and graduated from Burncoat High School. Douglas proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He married the love of his life, Arlene (Piccarelli), and settled in the Lincoln Street neighborhood of Worcester. Doug worked for the City of Worcester Parks Department at Hope Cemetery for 17 years. In his leisure time, Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren as well as fishing. He will be dearly missed. Doug will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 52 years, Arlene (Piccarelli) Holiday; his daughters, Tina Brady and her husband, Scott of Millbury and Kathleen Holiday and her partner, Shawn Warren of Plainfield, CT; his brother, Richard Holiday and his wife, Susan of North Carolina; his sister, Shirley Burgess of Wales; and his grandchildren, Samantha, Seryna and Michael. He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Holiday; and his sister, Judy Gonyea.
