WORCESTER: Elaine M. Bergstrom, 65, of 841 Brimfield Rd. in Warren, formerly of Ashton St. in Worcester, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, after taking ill in her home. She leaves 4 children, Dean K. Bergstrom of Worcester, Traci K. Topalis and her husband John of Millis, Scott K. Bergstrom and his wife Lori of Danielson, CT, Alyn P. Bergstrom of Warren; 6 grandchildren, Nikole, Kelley, Lucas, Spencer, Alex, and Cody. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Roger K. and Mary F. (Scanlon) Hamblin, and was a graduate of North High School, Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State College where she earned her Bachelorâs Degree. Elaine was a social worker with the Massachusetts Department of Social Services for many years, retiring in 2002. She was personally involved with supporting and repairing families in need, and placing children in loving adoptive homes. She was a member of the Worcester Inter-tribal Indian Center and a former member of St. Bernardâs Church. CALLING HOURS will be from 6 to 8 P. M. on FRIDAY, Oct. 2 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 A. M. in ST. BERNARDâS CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. After cremation, burial will be in St. Johnâs Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
