In Loving Memory of Emilienne Gudule Mwaba (Bubulina)
Emilienne Gudule Mwaba, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 16 at the age of 63, after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Her unwavering faith, gentle strength, and enduring love left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Born on April 10, 1962 in Charleroi Belgium, she lived a life rooted in grace, compassion, and a deep devotion to God. Through every season of her life—joyful and difficult alike—she leaned on her faith, and it was this trust in God that gave her peace and resilience, even in the face of illness and death.
A devoted mother to four children—Jamshed, Cyrus, Sarah-Pearl and Benaifer— She poured her heart into raising them with love, wisdom, and integrity. She led by example and her strength through adversity was a light to her family and a testament to the power of faith.
Emilienne was a lifelong learner with a passion for education, earning two degrees in her adult years. In her free time, she found joy in simple pleasures—knitting cozy sweaters for loved ones, savoring a good cup of tea, and proudly sharing her latest great deal from Kohl’s. Her hobbies were not just pastimes, but reflections of the care, and joyful spirit she brought into every space she entered.
Even during her illness, Emilienne remained a source of comfort and encouragement to others. She never complained, choosing instead to express gratitude for each day and hope for what was to come. Her favorite scripture, ‘And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”’– Exodus 33:19, guided her daily, and continues to inspire those she leaves behind.
Emilienne is survived by her four children, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition at: https://p2p.onecause.com/nocc/donate.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Emilienne is now at peace, embraced by eternal love and free from pain. Her legacy of faith, love, and strength will live on in all who knew her.
