WORCESTER: Evelyn M. (Booth) Cheroff, 94, formerly of Pleasant Street, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness. Her husband of ¬33 years, Martin Cheroff, died September 29, 1989. She leaves two daughters, Elizabeth âJoyceâ Sheehan of Worcester, Eileen C. Johnston and her husband Charles of Cherry Valley; two sons, Everett P. âJoeâ Cheroff of Houston, TX, Richard E. âTexâ Cheroff and his long-time companion, Cyi Shook, also of Houston; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Maureen F. Watson, a daughter-in-law, Linda J. (Stockdale) Cheroff, three brothers, Edward Booth, Charles E. Booth, Carlton E. Booth, and five sisters, Doris Cutroni, Gertrude C. Cohen, Mary A. McInnis, Geraldine P. âPearlâ Ricciardi, and Joyce O. Nickel, all predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Harry E. and Eveline A. (McNulty) Booth, was a graduate of Commerce High School, and lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for several years before returning home to Worcester. She served in the Army Air Force during WW II. Evelyn worked for several years as a physical therapy assistant at the Rehabilitation Center of Worcester. She was previously a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios. At one time she operated her own dance studio in Worcester called Maureenâs. She was a former member of the American Kennel Club in Corpus Christi, Texas and enjoyed breeding and showing boxers with her husband. She loved music, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her loving, sweet nature and her welcoming smile. CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 7 P. M. on THURSDAY, JAN. 31st at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 7 P. M. in the funeral home. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
