Francis Jennette

June 22, 1938 — September 13, 2024

GARDNER – Francis P. Jennette, 86, formerly of New Braintree and Holden, passed away peacefully on Friday. September 13, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus. Born and raised in Holden, he was the son of the late Savladore and Margaret (Stevens) Jennette.

He was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, Class of 1957.  Francis was a member of the WRHS Hall of Fame where he played football and was the captain of both the baseball and basketball teams.  He enjoyed a long career as a Supervisor for ECC of Holden.  During his retirement years, he worked as a starter for Holden Hills Country Club.

Francis was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.  In his spare time, he could often be found fishing or playing a round of golf with his friends.  First and foremost, he loved his family (they were so important to him!)  He took great pleasure in cooking for all of the family celebrations.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his beloved partner of 30 years, Carol Sherblom; his two sons, Michael Jennette of New Braintree and Todd Jennette and his fiancé, Jennifer McGilvray of Sturbridge; a bonus daughter, Kim Adams and her husband, Joshua of Hubbardston; two sisters, Helen Jennette Kronoff of Ventura, CA and Linda Jennette Caulfield of Cape Coral, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Harold Jennette and Joseph Jennette and his sister, Barbara Ann Jennette.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
