WORCESTER: Gary E. Raye, 51, of 94 King Philip Rd. , died peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2006 in St. Vincent Hospital, after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Patricia M. (Paiker) Raye; a son, Gary W. Raye of Florida; his mother, Ethel C. (Hutchins) Thibodeau and her husband Donald of Lake Wales, FL; four sisters, Christal Burgess of Spencer, Rose Dawson and her husband Kelly of Chicopee and Florida, Susan McKinnon and her husband Kevin of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathleen Connolly of South Paris, ME; several nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion dog Mugzy. A son, Gary E. Raye, Jr. , died shortly after birth. Gary was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Samuel E. Raye and lived here all of his life. He was a truck tire repairman and the owner and operator of County Tire in Worcester for eight years. He also worked 24 years at Harding Tire in Worcester. He was a Reserve Worcester County Deputy Sheriff, a member of the Polish American Veterans Club and the Worcester Boys Club. He enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking and was an auto-racing enthusiast. CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p. m. , Thursday, Feb. 9, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10 a. m. on Friday, Feb. 10, in the funeral home, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
