WORCESTER: Genevieve L. (Sawa) Cutroni, 84, of 27 Trinity Ave. , died peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2010 in her home, after a long illness. She leaves her husband of more than 60 years, Joseph F. Cutroni; her son, Joseph F. Cutroni, Jr. of Cherry Valley; and many nieces and nephews. Three sisters and a brother predeceased her: Ethel Barton of Worcester, Olga Leone of Shrewsbury, Helen Kotel of Millbury, and Edward Sawa of Worcester. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Antoni and Mary (Perykasza) Sawa and lived here all of her life. Genevieve was a founding member of St. Joan of Arc Church. She loved listening to polka music and vacationing in Maine and Colorado. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Meyer and Gina at the UMass Memorial Cardiac Care Clinic, the UMass Memorial Hospice staff, JoAnn Cooper of Care With A Heart, and Genevieveâs companion Julie, for the compassionate care provided by all. A CALLING HOUR will be from 9:15 to 10:15 A. M. on WEDNESDAY, JAN. 20, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester, followed by A FUNERAL MASS at 11 A. M. in ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, 570 Lincoln St. After cremation, committal of her ashes will be in St. Johnâs Cemetery Mausoleum, at the convenience of the family.
