Harold Stone

November 30, 1957 — October 4, 2024

WORCESTER – Harold C. Stone, age 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 at UMass Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. Harold was the son of Harold A. and Josephine (Dziemian) Stone. His father died in 1959 when Harold was just 1 and ½ years old.

Harold graduated from Doherty Memorial High School. He was a good soul, always ready to help anyone in need. Through his life, he worked at various jobs including at UPS, St. Vincent Hospital and UMass Medical Center, and was an extruder operator on Rt. 9.

He loved nature and found peacefulness in it. He further enjoyed a good round of golf, the Patriots, the Red Sox, and the Bruins. He loved dogs and had quite a few during his lifetime. His last pet was his cat Dilly who misses him already.

Harold found a lot of comfort in helping people.

He leaves behind his mother, Josephine “Josie” Stone; his sisters, Jo-Ellen Stone and Cheryl Killoran; his daughter, Sarah and her husband, Chris; and 2 beautiful granddaughters.

He also leaves behind his nephews Frank, Matthew, Andy, and Joe and his grand nephews, Hunter and Alex. Harold spent a lot of time with them in their younger years and loved them very much. He also leaves behind his longtime companion, Carol.

Harold was a good-hearted man who loved life and people. He was a platelet donor at the local veteran’s center. Harold grew up to be a fine young man until these dark demons invaded his mind. He was 24 years old when he had his first depression, and it lasted a long time.

Harold was loved and will be missed by all of us. Be happy, don’t let little things bug you because life can be shorter than you think.
