Helen A. Swenson

WORCESTER: Helen A. (Pupecki) Swenson, 88, formerly of 20 Longmeadow Ave. , died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in the Lutheran Home of Worcester, after a long illness. Her husband of 57 years, Paul C. Swenson, Jr. , died in 2002. She leaves two daughters, Cheryl A. Weagle and her husband Cliff of Worcester, Gail C. Bessette and her husband Robert of Warrenton, VA; 6 grandchildren, Christine, Stephen, Sandra, Keith, Michelle, Michael; 13 great grandchildren, Megan, Leah, Virginia, Margaret, Peter, Liam, Tyler, Andrew, Coby, Alexander, Nadia, Saige, Michael; and many nieces and nephews. Five sisters and four brothers predeceased her. Helen was born in Northampton and raised in Clinton, daughter of the late Stanley and Rosalie (Puchalski) Pupecki. She lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, a volunteer worker at Hahnemann Hospital, and had also been a volunteer at the Zion Lutheran Church Lunch Program. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who treasured spending time with her family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Lutheran Healthcare Center for their commitment to providing Helen with loving quality care. A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a. m. on Thursday, July 2, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 11 A. M. , in OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHURCH, 25 Fales St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster, MA.
