WORCESTER: Helen A. (Vilkas) Lapensee, 91, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Knollwood Nursing Center, after a brief illness. Her husband of 35 years, George O. Lapensee, died August 30, 1973. She leaves 2 sons, Edward W. Lapensee and his wife Pamela of Worcester, with whom she lived, Joseph M. Lapensee and his wife Kaye of Middletown, OH; 2 daughters, Dorothy A. Jordan and Marion E. Baynard, both of Worcester; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Four sons, Vincent, Paul A. , John E. and Richard J. Lapensee, 2 sisters, Julia Sanders and Marie Fleming, a brother, Vincent Vilkas, and 2 granddaughters, Cheryl Putnam and Alexandria Lapensee, all predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Vincent J. and Anna (Palevicius) Vilkas, and lived here all her life. Helen worked in the purchasing department at State Mutual Life Assurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. CALLING HOURS are 4 to 7 P. M. on WEDNESDAY, JULY 14 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A. M. on THURSDAY, JULY 15 at OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHURCH, 25 Fales Street, followed by burial in St. Johnâs Cemetery.
