Irene M. Kelly

WORWORCESTER: Irene M. Kelly, a long time insurance clerk, died on Thursday, March 18, 2010 in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after being injured in a fall at home. She leaves 2 nephews, John Francis Kelly and his wife Patrice, Donald Leo Kelly, all of the greater New York Area; 3 grandnephews, John Francis Kelly, Kevin Kelly, and Garrett Kelly; 3 grandnieces, Megan Ann Kelly, Caitlin Kelly, and Erin Kelly. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John Francis and Anna M. (Donahue) Kelly and lived here all her life. She graduated from St. Peterâs High School and attended New Rochelle College in West Chester, New York. Her brother, John Leo Kelly of Bloomfield, New Jersey, and a cousin, Paul W. Murphy of Worcester, both predeceased her. Irene was an insurance claims clerk at National Grange Mutual Insurance Company in Auburn, where she worked for 18 years, retiring in 1993. She previously worked for many years at Grant Insurance Agency and several years at Winchester Insurance Agency. She had also worked as a volunteer at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Hahnemann Campus. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and a member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women. A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 A. M. on MONDAY, MARCH 22 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 11 A. M. in ST. CHRISTOPHERâS CHURCH, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will follow in St. Johnâs Cemetery.
