James M. Sanders, Jr., of Holden, died on Friday January 31, 2025 in his home. He is survived by his bride Barbara A. (Reddick) Sanders with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in April.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Cheryl T. Morrison of Jefferson, sons, Michael A. Sanders of Worcester and Richard J. Sanders of Jefferson; and four beloved grandchildren, Kelsey Sanders (Casey Rucevice), Megan Morrison, Joseph Sanders and Lillian Sanders.
Preceded in death by his sister Mary Sweet and son James M. Sanders III.
He retired from the Worcester Art Museum in 2004, having served there for nearly 21 years. He was a long-time member of the former St. John’s Episcopal Church in Worcester, which closed in 2009, and was an active member of All Saints Church in Worcester.
At his request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 1:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving Street in Worcester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Jim will be laid to rest privately.
Jim’s family kindly requests that no flowers be sent due to family allergies. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving Street, Worcester 01609.
