WORCESTER: James V. Flynn, 80, of 74 Everard St. , died Tuesday, January 17, 2006, in his home, after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Harriet M. (Shannon) Flynn; two sons, James V. Flynn, Jr. of Carroll, ME, Christopher J. Flynn of Rutland; two daughters, Mary J. Rood of Worcester, Nancy A. Boucher of Ashburnham; a brother Daniel J. Flynn of Worcester; two sisters Elizabeth Maenzo and Margaret Sherman, both of Worcester; twelve grand-children; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Two sons, Thomas P. Flynn of Derry, NH, Timothy P. Flynn of Worcester, five brothers and a sister, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late John M. and Mary (Friel) Flynn and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Jim was a senior school custodian for the City of Worcester where he worked for 38 years, until retiring in 1991. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and was an avid fan of the Patriots and the Red Sox. CALLING HOURS are 5 to 8 p. m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a. m. in OUR LADY OF FATIMA CHURCH, 43 Belmont St. , followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. The family suggests that donations in memory of Jim be made to Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 7 Auburn St. , Worcester, MA 01605.
