WORCESTER: James W. Leyden, 79, of 11 Lake Ave. , died Thursday, April 16, 2009, in UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after a long illness. He leaves two sons, James and Michael Leyden, both of Florida; a daughter, Sheila Hasselstrom and her husband Russell of Worcester; two sisters, Kathy Gove of Holden, and Maureen Letendre and her husband Alfred of Spencer. He was born in Auburn, son of the late James K. and Doris C. (Gallagher) Leyden, and was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Army Signal Corp. Jim worked for 25 years in home construction and remodeling with the R. Zolla Company in Worcester, until retiring in 1994. There are no calling hours. A COMMITTAL SERVICE will be held at 1 P. M. on Thursday, April 23, at the MASSACHUSETTS VETERANSâ MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 111 Glenallen St. , Winchendon, MA.
