Jeffrey Godin, age 56, of 40 Lanes Road Westminster Ma passed away in his home on June 22, 2024 after a strong fight with pancreatic cancer.
He was a Professor of Exercise Science at Fitchburg State University for 25 years. He was also Head of the strength and conditioning program for the Fitchburg Falcon athletes. He knew as a young boy exercise, health and fitness would be his area of study.
He loved teaching. He loved coaching. He loved his students.
He was the Founding Father of the Spartan SGX Certification program. He certified 1000’s of coaches across the world to coach athletes using his SGX program with a slogan of “building better humans”.
He loved teaching those workshops.
He owned and operated Blackstone Valley Human Performance (BVHP) where he provided V02 max and Lactate Threshold testing which became the catalyst to many years of training and racing across multiple disciplines of sports.
He was an Ironman Triathlete, Trail Ultrarunner, Mountain Biker, Cyclist, Obstacle Racer, Adventure Racer, Death Race participant, avid Hiker and Hockey Player.
His love for nature and the mountains is where it all began. He hiked all the 4,000 footers in the White mountains and summited many 14ers in Colorado. He introduced many people to the joys of hiking. He helped people realize they can do more than they think they can do, and it’s okay to get out of your comfort zone. The term used is, being “Godinized”
He was a loving, fun, adventurous husband to his wife Tammy.
He was a cool, caring Father to his son Christopher.
He was a caring, thoughtful brother to his sister Karyn and brother Scott.
He was a fun Uncle to his nieces and nephews, BJ, Kaylyn, Jenny, Taylor, Sam, Emma, Catalina, and Dean.
He was an amazing son to his late Mother and Father, Barbara and Tom Godin.
He was legendary.
His celebration of life will be held at Jeff and Tammy’s home near Wachusett Mountain, where he proposed to her 32 years ago.

Parking is street side and for those who know the area they can park at the trail head .5 miles up the road. Jeff would be proud of the folks who make the trek.
