AUBURN: John J. âDintyâ Moore, 84, formerly of Oakland Dr. , died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 119 Providence St. , after a long illness. His wife of 56 years, Julia M. âSueâ (Morelly) Moore, died January 13, 2013. He leaves a son, Michael J. Moore and his wife Camille of Palm Desert, CA; a sister, Maureen Shedd of Vero Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, Caroline, Connor and Aidan; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Another son, Paul P. Moore, died in 1969. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late John F. and Elizabeth J. (Walsh) Moore and was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War earning two Bronze Stars. He lived in Auburn more than 50 years. John worked as a truck driver for 12 years with J&J Corrugated Company until he retired in 1988. He previously drove for 15 years with N. Y. Worcester Express - Eastern Freightways. He was a member of North American Martyrs Church, Teamsters Local Union #170 and its Retirement Club, Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329 in Millbury, Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post No. 279 in Auburn, and the Auburn Elks Lodge No. 2118 where he once served as a Trustee. He had also been an active volunteer for many years with the American Red Cross Blood Drives. A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9 A. M. to 10:15 A. M. on MONDAY, DEC. 9 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , in Worcester, followed by A FUNERAL MASS at 11 A. M. in NORTH AMERICAN MARTYRS CHURCH, 8 Wyoma Dr. , in Auburn.
