ROCKLAND: Joseph C. Gabriele, 85, of 73 Johnson Terrace, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Blue Hills Alzheimers Care Center, Stoughton. His wife of 34 years, Mary F. (Girouard) Gabriele, died in 2004. He leaves a stepdaughter, Donna A. Rinella and her husband Anthony of Abington; a daughter, Donna Poulin of Worcester; two grandchildren, Michael and Gina Rinella, both of Abington; a niece, Sandra CaraDonna and her husband Nicholas of Worcester; six nephews, Larry, David, Michael, Paul and Martin Gabriella, all of Worcester, Gene Belsito of Florida; a half-brother, Armand Catalani of Worcester; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. His stepson, Phillip Girouard, his sister Marian Belsito and two brothers, Michael and George Gabriella, all predeceased him. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Antonio and Theresa (Frederico) Gabriele. He lived in Worcester and in Brockton before moving to Rockland many years ago. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. Joe was a supervisor at Commonwealth Shoe in Brockton where he worked for 35 years, until retiring in 1985. He previously worked at Grosvenor Shoe in Worcester. He enjoyed golfing, walking, gardening and playing cribbage. A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a. m. on Thursday, July 20, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester, followed by A FUNERAL MASS at 11 a. m. in OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL CHURCH, 24 Mulberry St. , Worcester. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family, in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
