Julie grew up in Chicago where her father worked as a research biochemist. In 1957, the family moved to Chazey, N.Y. where, after completing High School, she attended the Mary Fletcher School of Nursing in Burlington, Vermont. Upon graduation in 1963, RN Julie Coombes was quickly promoted to charge nurse at the Mary Fletcher Hospital.

In November of that year Julie wedded John W Clark Jr, of Shelburne, Vermont, giving birth to two sons John W Clark III and David Coombes Clark in 1965 and 1968. In 1972, the family moved to Northborough, Massachusetts where she raised her boys, was active in the community, and made new friends along the way.

As her children grew older she re-entered school attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies at Worcester State College, with honors, and a Masters degree in Liberal Arts at Clark University. Julie then began an 11 year career at Digital Equipment Corporation working as a senior administrator. After an amicable divorce and relocating to the Worcester area, she enjoyed city life, meeting up with friends, and was an avid book reader. Among other endeavors, she managed local hotspot Tatnuck Bookseller including the two retail stores, satellite college bookstores and restaurant. Upon retiring she was a hospice volunteer for the VNA including at Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

In later years Julie developed dementia and moved to the Brookdale Senior Living facility in Auburn. Her dementia became more debilitating and she was transferred to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester where she passed away on August 25, 2024.

Julie is survived by her former spouse John W Clark Jr, sons John W Clark III and his wife MaryAnn Clark, David C and Elizabeth Clark, their children Jacob, Emily, Ryan and Nicholas, several close friends, and numerous acquaintances. She will be missed by all.
