WORCESTER: Kathleen A. (Ashe) LaPorte, R. N. , 63, of 116 Newton Avenue North, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, in her home, after an illness. She leaves 3 sons, Carleton H. âJayâ LaPorte, III, William H. E. LaPorte, II, and Justin Ashe LaPorte, all of Worcester; a sister, Janet M. Donahue of Cherry Valley; her husband of many years, Carleton H. LaPorte, Jr. of Worcester; several nieces and nephews; and a special grandniece, Paige OâHara Dawson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Roy L. and Lillian E. (Jubinville) Ashe. Her brother, Robert F. Ashe, also predeceased her. A graduate of both the former St. Peterâs High School and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, Kathie earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Anna Maria College. She began her career in the Intensive Care Unit at City Hospital, becoming Supervisor of Emergency Medical Services, before leaving for St. Vincent Hospital, where she worked for more than 25 years. She served first as Director of Critical Care Units and most recently in the Division of Quality Care Management. She was a member of several professional nursing organizations, including the Massachusetts Nurses Association. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a proud Soccer Mom who enjoyed watching all of her sons play. CALLING HOURS are 5 to 8 p. m. MONDAY, Oct. 13, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a. m. TUESDAY, Oct. 14, in IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 353 Grove St. A close family member, Rev. George L. OâBrien, will be the principal celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Josephâs Cemetery, Leicester, MA.
