WORCESTER: Kenneth W. Carlson, 60, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center â Memorial Campus, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his mother, Barbara M. (Annett) Carlson of Worcester; a brother, Jeffrey A. Carlson of Worcester; a sister, Linda L. Wagner and her husband Dennis of Worcester; a nephew, TSgt. Scott M. Wagner, his wife Jamie and son Cooper of Herndon, VA. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Paul H. Carlson. He graduated from Burncoat Senior High School and earned bachelors degrees from both Clark University and Assumption College. Ken worked in the accounts receivable department at Beaver-Visitec International in Waltham. He had also worked at Merisel in Northboro and at the former Edwards Paint & Wallpaper in Worcester. He was a life long member of The First Unitarian Church of Worcester. He was a member of the Eastern Federation Mineral Club and spent many active years with the Boy Scouts at Treasure Valley in Paxton. He loved stamp and coin collecting, hiking at Mount Wachusett and in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He was also an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. The family would like to thank Dr. Shepro and the CCU staff at Memorial for their kind and compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to attend a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 1:30 P. M. on TUESDAY, APRIL 30 at THE FIRST UNITARIAN CHURCH of WORCESTER, 90 Main St. There are no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
