Laura J. (Banach) Heath

July 6, 1966 — February 18, 2025

Laura J. Heath (Banach), 58, of Worcester, passed away in her home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, after a short but valiant battle with breast cancer.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Ashley Heath and her partner Aaron of Holden, and Amy Heath and her partner Doug of Hubbardston, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara J. Miller of Brookfield, and her brother, Anthony J. Banach IV of New Hampshire, along with several beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Laura was predeceased by both of her parents, Anthony J. Banach III (d. 2007) and Dorothy L. Banach (O’Clair) (d. 2018), as well as her former husband of over 30 years, Robert A. Heath (d. 2016) and younger brother, Edward J. Banach (d. 2019).

Born and raised in the Worcester area, Laura took immense pride in her children. She worked as a crossing guard at Vernon Hill School while they were growing up and was actively involved in their extracurricular activities. Laura served as president of the parent group at Vernon Hill, where she dedicated much of her time to supporting the school community. She also volunteered for the Girl’s Club sewing program. For more than 15 years, Laura worked at the Umass Memorial Medical Center parking garage, a job she loved deeply.

Laura found joy in the simple things in life, from cooking for her family and crafting to gardening and spending time with her fur babies—especially her beloved grand-pup, Tito. She will be remembered fondly by family and friends for the many karaoke nights and holiday parties she hosted with love and laughter.

The void left by Laura’s passing will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her love, generosity, and the impact she made on countless lives will never be forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced once confirmed, and friends and family will be invited to share memories of an incredible mom, wife, sister, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Umass Memorial Cancer Center of Excellence.
