Linda M. Wood (Tarbell), 62, of Ashby, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Born on August 2, 1962, in Fitchburg, MA, Linda was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Leon Tarbell and Beverly (Belliveau) Tarbell.
Linda loved camping, relaxing at the beach, playing cards, bingo, spending time in her garden with her husband Dave, and found great joy in her kitchen, baking and cooking enough food to feed a small army. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family, friends and beloved dog, Cooper.
Linda will always be remembered for her feisty personality, witty sense of humor and her uncanny ability to connect with people in such a way that left a lasting impression. She touched many lives with her compassion and generosity.
She is predeceased by her parents, Leon Tarbell, Beverly Tarbell, and her brother Michael Tarbell Sr.
She is survived by her husband, David Wood of Ashby, sister, Deborah Harris of Maine, her children, Melissa Wilson and Michael Benoit of Worcester, Amanda and Scott Lefevre of Leominster, David Wood Jr. and Monique Tata of Townsend, Scott and Alicia Wood of Leominster, Mary Wood and Kenneth St. Laurent II of Fitchburg, and Bryan and Sarah Wood of Ashburnham, grandchildren Melodie, Delia, AnaJo, Benjamin, Jared, Emma, Kenneth III, Aundrea, Sammy, Parker, Brooke, her great-grandchildren Karter and Josephine, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
Family and friends are invited to honor Linda by gathering for a celebration of life service that will be held on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster, MA.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers who provided exceptional care to Linda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to HealthAlliance Home Health and Hospice at https://hahhh.org/.
