WARE: Louis H. Germain, 84, formerly of Hardwick, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at West Side House in Worcester, after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Genevieve (Pranskevich) Germain; 4 daughters, Mary Ann Germain of Worcester, Marcia McFadden of Mine Run, VA, Genevieve Thomas of Long Island, NY, Therese Germain of Virginia; 2 sons, Michael and Pete Germain, both of Hardwick; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His brother Raymond, half-brother Harrison, step-brother Donald and step-sister Joyce, all predeceased him. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Louis and Florence (Allen) Germain, and moved to Hardwick in 1946. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the Marine Corps 2nd Division. Louis worked as the Head Housekeeper at the Belchertown State School for many years. He was a member of the Gilbertville American Legion Post and served as Assistant Scout Master with Troop 37 in Gilbertville. There are no calling hours.
