WORCESTER: Marietta A. (Ligor) Koblara, 79, of Scarborough, Maine, formerly of Lake Ave. in Worcester, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Barron Center in Portland, Maine. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Lazar K. âLarryâ Koblara; a son, Gary N. Koblara and his wife Susan of Scarborough, ME; a daughter, Stephanie Smaltz and her husband Paul of Paxton, 2 brothers, John M. Ligor and his wife Suzanne of Holden, Theodore âTedâ Ligor and his wife Beverly of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Aurelia Tito, of Scarborough, ME; 4 grandchildren, Tara Belinskas and her husband Keith of Worcester, Lauren Kostantin and her husband Chris of West Brookfield, Daniel and Jennifer Smaltz of Paxton; 2 great grandsons, Shane Belinskas, Jackson Kostantin; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, William Ligor, predeceased her. Marietta was born in Korce, Albania, daughter of the late Steven and Arsinoi (Dhimitri) Ligor. She came to the United States in 1938 and lived in New York City before moving to Worcester in 1943. She was a 1947 graduate of Commerce High School and lived in Worcester until moving to Maine in 2001. She was a former member of St. Maryâs Albanian Orthodox Church. CALLING HOURS are from 8:30 to 10 A. M. on SATURDAY, DEC. 19 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 10 A. M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
