PAXTON: Mary E. (Kelly) Savage, 65, of 5 Indian Hill Road, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center â Memorial Campus, after an illness. She leaves her husband of almost 37 years, Thomas J. Savage, Sr. ; a son, Thomas J. Savage, Jr. and his wife Gabrielle of Paxton; a daughter, Kelly M. Savage of Orlando, FL; 2 brothers, Martin T. Kelly and his wife Patricia of Gaithersburg, MD, Kevin M. Kelly and his wife Leslie of Rochdale; a sister, Patricia F. Belsito and her husband Peter of Paxton; and her many nieces and nephews who referred to her as âAunt Mamieâ. She was born in Worcester daughter of the late Walter J. and Frances M. (Martin) Kelly. She was a graduate of St. Peterâs High School and Salter Secretarial School, both in Worcester. Mary worked as the assistant to the Services Coordinator for the Town of Paxton for several years. She previously worked in Medical Records at Holden Hospital, Hahnemann Hospital and Memorial Hospital. She had also been a medical secretary for Drs. Shannon and Waters for many years. She was a member of St. Columba Church and the Paxton Seniors Council on Aging where she served as Treasurer and a lunch program volunteer. She enjoyed her summer trips to Hampton Beach, most recently with the âBeach Girlsâ. She also enjoyed jumble puzzles, gardening and knitting. The family would like to thank the nurses in the CCU at Memorial Hospital and the staff at Christopher House, especially Michelle, for the care provided to Mary. CALLING HOURS are 4 to 7 p. m. SUNDAY, Oct. 12, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 a. m. MONDAY, Oct. 13, in ST. COLUMBA CHURCH, 18 Richards Ave. , Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. The family suggests donations in memory of Mary be made to the Friends of the Council on Aging, 17 West St. , Paxton, MA 01612.
