Mary Kramek

June 15, 1951 — December 30, 2024

WORCESTER - Mary J. Kramek, age 73, passed away peacefully at home in Worcester on Monday, December 30, 2024.  Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Zahahra) Pagonis.

Mary was raised in Worcester and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, class of 1969.  She went on to work at Worcester County Institute for Savings (WCIS) and Robinson Thread for many years.  She began her employment at the Worcester Diocese in the finance department and finished her career as the Office Manager for the superintendent for the Diocese.

Mary loved traveling and day trips but her favorite place was going to York, ME, where she enjoyed the simple pleasures of small-town shopping and long walks on the beach. She loved watching sunrises and sunsets most.

She cherished time spent with her girls.  Especially, the chocolate - tea parties she and Avery delighted in hosting.  Family was everything to "Eeya", a nickname she was affectionately coined by Sarah. Eeya was thoughtful beyond measure and was the epitome of quiet strength and grace.  Mary also never missed an opportunity to go out with her two lifelong friends, Lisa Fisher and Doreen Guerra.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 54 years, Ronald S. Kramek; 2 daughters, Catharine Mysliwiec and her husband, Michael of Worcester, Teresa Kramek and her fiancé, Sean Atlas of Shrewsbury; a brother, James Pagonis Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Tewksbury; a sister, Helen Figueroa of Worcester; a beloved granddaughter, Sarah C. O'Donnell and her cherished great-granddaughter, Avery C. Coakley.  She leaves behind two nieces; Jessica Pagonis of CT and Anna Figueroa of Worcester, as well as, many family and friends. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Edgar Figueroa, who passed in 2006.

The family would like to thank the oncologists and nurses at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester along with the thoughtful and caring staff at Beacon Hospice.

A private mass for the immediate family will be held at 11:00 a.m on Friday, January 10th, at Kelly Cremation & Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester.  Following the mass, a celebration of life will take place at the Tatnuck American Legion Post, 570 Mill St. Worcester starting at 2:00 p.m., all are welcome.
