WORCESTER - Nicholas M. CaraDonna, 92, of 4 Hermitage Lane, died Sunday, February 24, 2008, in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 56 years, Geraldine M. "Gerry" (Evans) CaraDonna, died June 12, 2002. He leaves a son, Deacon Nicholas M. CaraDonna, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Worcester; 7 grandchildren, Linda Whitcomb and her husband Charles of Hyannis, James CaraDonna and his wife Cindy of Oxford, John CaraDonna and his wife Lauren of Pelham, NH, Joseph CaraDonna and his wife Valeria of Ashland, Cheryl Ashe and her husband Joseph of Charlton, Brendan Donahue and his wife Kathleen of Springfield, VT, Cara Donahue of Bloomfield CT; 8 great grandchildren; his son-in-law, Dennis Donahue and his wife Pat of West Hartford; and many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Cynthia A. Donahue of West Hartford, CT, died in 2002. The last survivor of 22 children, he was born in Worcester, son of the late Leopold and Rose (Peppina) CaraDonna. He attended Northeastern University in Boston and took many engineering courses during his career. He was a life long Worcester resident and an Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. CaraDonna worked more than 40 years as a quality control engineer. He was a department manager at General Electric in Ashland and previously worked at Telechron in Worcester. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, the C. P. Tuttle American Legion Post #279 in Auburn, and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a master wood worker, a Civil War History Buff and a music enthusiast. He particularly enjoyed opera, classical and jazz. CALLING HOURS will be from 8:45 to 11:15 a. m. on Friday, Feb. 29, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , immediately followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 12 Noon in ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. The family suggests donations in memory of Mr. CaraDonna be made to St. Joan of Arc Church Building Fund, 570 Lincoln St. , Worcester, MA 01605.
