NORTH GRAFTON - August 15, 2023, marks the passing of Noreen “Nori” Thorne, 75, who left us after a brief illness while in the company of her loving husband, Edward H. Thorne IV with whom she spent the last 25 years. Noreen was an exceptional lady, she carried herself with style and grace that was second to none. Her smile was infectious and warmed the hearts of family and friends. From the title of “Miss Commack” in high school to leading board room meetings as a CEO, Noreen was no stranger to hard work. Those accomplishments in life laid the foundation for the incredible woman we all knew, a woman who provided unwavering support and encouragement to all of those who knew her. Noreen allowed her children to grow and make mistakes, however, she was always there to provide guidance and advice. From standing by her husband through his battle with cancer, to mentoring her children through their hardships in life, she had an immeasurable impact on the lives of those fortunate to meet her. You left us too soon, but you will always be remembered. We will never forget your stories, your jokes, your advice, and most of all your smile. Rest in peace and we know that this is not goodbye, but we will see you again. Noreen was born in Queens, New York on February 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Howard Estling and Madeline (Booth) Estling and sister of Robert Estling. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind five children, Melissa (Chris) Nevola, Melissa (Pat) Finn, Lisa (Shawn) Fatula, Laura (Billy) Thorne, and Edward H. Thorne V; ten grandchildren, Krista, Tabitha (deceased), Jennifer, Krystal, Stephen, Danielle, Jordan, Cailyn, Erin, and Shaylee; and three great-grandchildren, Kolbie, Raegan, and Deegan.
