WORCESTER: Patricia M. (Purcell) Mita, 77, of 8 Winter Hill Dr. , died Monday, April 27, 2009, in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing Home, after an illness. Her husband of almost 50 years, Teddy C. Mita, died May 26, 2003. She leaves four sons, Robert C. , David and Kevin Mita, all of Worcester, Ma. , Stephan T. Mita of Holden, Ma; two daughters, Nancy Smith of West Palm Beach, Fla. , Karin Fritsch of North Reading, Ma. ; a brother, Francis Purcell of Hatfield, Ma. ; seven grandchildren, Bobbie, Katie, Samantha, Sarah, Mikayla, Madison and Grace; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Cambridge, Ma. and raised in Northampton, Ma. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Clark University, and earned her masters degree from Worcester State College. Pat was a teacher for the City of Worcester Public School System for many years. She had also worked as a registered nurse in the Worcester area for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Georgeâs Church, an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan, and loved working in the many gardens around her home. CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p. m. on THURSDAY, April 30, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a. m. on FRIDAY, May 1, in ST. GEORGEâS CHURCH, 38 Brattle St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
