RUTLAND: Peter D. MacIver, 60, of River Rd. , after a long and courageous struggle with prostate cancer, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in his home, surrounded by loving family and friends. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth A. (Gaskell) MacIver; his daughter, Diana L. MacIver of Worcester; 2 brothers, Kenneth F. MacIver and his wife Nan of Winchester, Brian H. MacIver, his wife Pam and daughter Valerie all of Lexington; his aunt, Evelyn Millane, of Lexington; 2 sisters-in-law, Susan Gaskell of Reading, Janet Enos and her husband Russ of Plymouth; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was born in Concord, son of the late Kenneth F. and Doris G. (Ahman) MacIver. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, MA, attended the University of Massachusetts, and served in the United States Army Reserves. He lived in Eliot, Maine before moving here in 1983. Peter worked as a professional gas tank driver with several local companies for many years. He was an antique car enthusiast and a faithful/loyal fan of the New England Patriots for more than 40 years. He loved boxing, classic movies, driving his tractor-trailer, and his "2 boys", cats Emmit and Elliot. After cremation, a MEMORIAL CALLING HOUR with his ashes, will be held from 6 to 7 P. M. on THURSDAY, MAY 8, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester, immediately followed by a CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE at 7 P. M. in the funeral home. Peter's family invites his friends and neighbors to share stories and fond memories of him at the service.
