WORCESTER: Phyllis C. (LeClaire) Giangrande McAuliffe, 91, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after a brief illness. Her husband of 54 years, Lawrence J. McAuliffe, died July 9, 2007. She leaves a daughter, Gail M. McAuliffe of Worcester; a son, Gary L. McAuliffe and his wife Carol of Kailua, Hawaii; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Giangrande of Worcester; two grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Giangrande; several nieces and nephews. Her oldest son, Ralph Giangrande of Worcester, died in 2010. Three brothers also predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Arthur J. and Yvonne (Messier) LeClaire. Phyllis was a bookkeeper at Commerce Bank for several years until she retired. She previously worked in the Worcester City Clerkâs office. She had also worked at Heald Machine. She was a longtime member of St. George's Church and a former member of St. Bernard's Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time on Cape Cod. CALLING HOURS will be from 9 A. M. to 10:15 A. M. on MONDAY, APRIL 1, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 11 A. M. in ST. GEORGE'S CHURCH, 38 Brattle St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
