Phyllis M. Forge

WORCESTER: Phyllis M. (Beaudin) Forge, 79, of 130 Barnard Rd. , died Friday, September 18, 2009, at UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus, after an illness. Her husband of 49 years, Rudolph J. Forge, former Treasurer and Tax Collector for the City of Worcester, died February 12, 2003. She leaves a daughter, Mary Elizabeth âBethâ Forge of Worcester; a son, Mark S. Forge of Sturbridge; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, and raised in Spencer, daughter of the late Philias A. and Edna T. (McMahon) Beaudin. She was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer and Our Lady the Elms College in Chicopee. Phyllis was a teacher in the Spencer Public School system where she worked for 30 years until retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Bernard's Church where she once served as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod and was an avid Red Sox fan, having attended a game with her husband Rudy on their first date. CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 P. M. on SUNDAY, Sept. 20 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A. M. on MONDAY, Sept. 21 in St. BERNARDâS CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
