Richard Holub

March 13, 1952 — June 10, 2024

Richard Holub, 72, of Spencer, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2024, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to the late Walter and Irene Holub and moved to Worcester when he was 10 years old.

 

Richard will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife Janice (Goguen) Holub, daughter Andrea DaCosta and her husband Mauro from North Carolina, stepdaughter Julie Monahan and husband Michael from New Hampshire, sister Christine Ciociolo, nephew Matthew Ciociolo and his wife Yesi, as well as his five grandchildren: William, Anthony, and Joey DaCosta and Emma and CJ Monahan. Richard was predeceased by his nephew Nicholas Ciociolo. 

 

Richard demonstrated his dedication to serving his country in the Coast Guard for four years. 

 

After his military service, Richard pursued a career in law enforcement with the Metropolitan District Commission Police and later retired from the Massachusetts State Police. 

 

He also owned his own business, Bees, Bats, and Beyond, showcasing his spirit and passion for unique ventures.

 

In his free time Richard enjoyed caving, rock climbing, windsurfing, scuba diving, and fishing, embracing the thrill of exploration and adventure. He also enjoyed his koi pond, garden, and working in his yard.

 

Richard’s legacy of service, entrepreneurship, and love for adventure will be cherished by all who knew him. 

 

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
