HOLLAND, MA: Richard James Anderson, Sr. , 72, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his four loving children. Born in Queens, NY on March 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Siegfried and Martha (Hyland) Anderson. He leaves his children, Deb Anderson of Clinton, MA, Rick and Linda (Hawk) Anderson of Palmer, MA, Steve and Katy (MacClellan) Anderson of Bellingham, MA, and Theresa (Anderson) and Rob Martin of Warwick, RI. He is survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Courtney, Sean, Lukas, Jeremy, Isabella, Dominic, and James. Dick was raised in Lawrence, MA and attended Northeastern University in Boston. Consistently building upon his background in chemical engineering and plastics, he launched several very successful coating and laminating companies, culminating in LAMCOTEC, Inc. in Monson, MA. He was an avid reader, loyal friend, enjoyed watching old movies, writing poetry, was always listening to music, and especially loved when his grandchildren visited him at the lake. He never forgot his Anderson and Hyland roots, and steadfastly maintained contact with family members until his death. Visiting hours will be at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. , Worcester, MA on Friday, October 29th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.
